All the entries were fantastic (except for the one really terrible dance mix), and here's Josh & Brandon giving a big shout out to Itza after the show at Neumo's in Seattle last Thursday. Sorry for the delayed announcement, but the band really wanted to give it up online, up close & personal, because that's just the way they roll ;-) We hope it was worth the wait to see this great clip, and thanks again to all who participated. Those who didn't, there's always next time .... the band had so much fun that they want to do it again. Write to them and let them know which song you guys want to remix next !!!

The Atomic Heels GarageBand remix contest is OVER !! The last submission has been received and the band are in the process of finalizing the selections. There were alot of really good ones, very impressed with everyone's talents and creativity. Stand by to see if you're among the lucky finalists !!

Contest prizes include a pre-loaded Nano Chromatic featuring the new album and video, as well as a limited edition digital EP issued on TSM Recordings, which will include the winning remix and other exclusive tracks. Please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery of your Nano.

First, you'll need to DOWNLOAD the GarageBand version of the song.

• Mac users Control+Click, then Download Linked File and Save File to your Desktop.
• Double click the zip file to unzip.
• Double click the GarageBand icon

Once GarageBand launches you're ready to remix!! Best of all, you're not limited to just one remix, up to FIVE (5) remixes can be submitted. So, as Josh Garza tells it .... the wilder the better ! Go trance....go ska....go hip-hop ! Just....go remix !!

• Once downloaded, you can easily use loops and instruments built into GarageBand to remix the song. If you're looking to add more loops and instruments to give your remix even more musical variations, check out GarageBand Jam Packs

• Once your remix is complete, save it as an .mp3 file and upload it to your personal music player on your profile page. Make sure you click the box "Allow people to put this song on their pages".

• As a backup, send an mp3 of your remix to thesecretmachines@me.com

• We will be featuring new remixes daily on the main TSM Recordings Music Player on the home page. Check in to see if your remix has been chosen !

The Secret Machines will be announcing the winner online on November 2 (submissions end at 11:59pm on Nov 1) and your pre-loaded Nano Chromatic will be sent to you within 2-4 weeks.

• This is what the GarageBand file looks like, it’s laid out in multiple tracks just like how TSM work in the studio. You can change the volume on the tracks or even mute them entirely to hear specific parts of the song.

Listen as Brandon uses Logic 8 to prepare the stems for use with GarageBand. This took him about 10 days, a few hours each day, so you can appreciate the effort that went into this project. We hope you will find it worthwhile !
